Project Title: Feasibility Study of Bio-Hydrogen production from Non-cellulosic and Cellulosic Waste using Microbial Electrolysis Cells
Abstract of Project :
It is well known that cellulose in nature is a persistent material. Cellulosic materials can however be converted into a valuable resource. For my Fulbright project, I propose to study the feasibility of conversion of biomass containing cellulose into bio-hydrogen gas. This is comparatively a new area of research under the "waste to energy" section. I hope my research can help develop a technology to that will produce low cost alternate energy for rural communities in India.
